“I've done the portrait of M. Gachet with a melancholy expression, which might well seem like a grimace to those who see it... The portraits of Dr. Gachet were completed just six weeks before Van Gogh shot himself and died from his wounds.

Many scholars believe that Van Gogh was an absinthe alcoholic. Van Gogh knew the drink affected him, but he still chose to consume it. It was believed to have hallucinogenic effects. This may have contributed to his mental health struggles.
In a letter to his brother he wrote:
’“…the only thing to bring ease and distraction, in my case and other people’s too, is to stun oneself with a lot of drinking or heavy smoking.”
“Meanwhile you do understand that if alcohol has undoubtedly been one of the great causes of my madness, then it came on very slowly and will go away slowly too, assuming it does go, of course.”

Particle size of the pigment can also impact the glow. A finer pigment will result in a less grainy glow; however it may not glow as bright compared to a larger particle size. Would you rather have a smoother glow or a brighter glow? Use of other pigments in tandem, such as shimmers and glitters, can also make the glow look more grainy or speckled.
Light source used to “charge” GID pigments glow also impacts strength. Using UV/LED light will result in a stronger glow than incandescent lighting and sunlight, especially for colors on the end of the color spectrum.

Particle size of the pigment can also impact the glow. A finer pigment will result in a less grainy glow; however it may not glow as bright compared to a larger particle size. Would you rather have a smoother glow or a brighter glow? Use of other pigments in tandem, such as shimmers and glitters, can also make the glow look more grainy or speckled.
Light source used to “charge” GID pigments glow also impacts strength. Using UV/LED light will result in a stronger glow than incandescent lighting and sunlight, especially for colors on the end of the color spectrum.

Application: Apply 2-3 coats. Thick even coats work best for magnetic formulas. Recommend 1-2 layers of top coat for smooth coverage to preference and to help seal in the effect. It is common for magnetic pigments to continue to diffuse as nails cure and throughout length of wear.
Activate magnetic effect: While the polish is still wet, use a magnet to activate the magnetic pigment. Keep the magnet in place for at least 60 seconds while the polish dries.
You can try these methods:
For a linear cat-eye effect | Hover the magnet over the wet nail as close as possible, or paint the nail while your finger rests on top of the magnet.
For a curved cat-eye curved effect | Use the side of the magnet to carve out a curve or swirl.
For velvet effect | Hover the magnet around the nail starting at the bottom and moving to the sides and top, use multiple magnets placed together to create a box with finger placed in the middle, or use a 20-30 lb. horseshoe magnet.
